Stalker by Hazel Edwards

Have you ever had that feeling of being stalked and that you are being watched? Where are you right now? What are you doing? Who could be watching you?

Well Lily Noelle is. She works the graveyard shift at radio 3BC with that one fanatic always watching. She creeps into her home, steals her credit card to buy her flowers, writes all kind of stuff on her favourite green shirt, she records her speaking, calls her and makes her listen to her own voice and even changes the combination for the lock on her car.

The stalker is a dark and mysterious young female. This clairvoyant slowly takes over Lily’s life, but the clever thing about her is that she does this without Lily even noticing. She has access to her, everywhere she is and knows her everyday schedule, follows her, lurking in the shadows. She brings the feeling of being watched constantly making the book really suspenseful.

The dialogue and narrative style of the book is used very well. It tells the story and then gives the stalkers thoughts and plans either after the event has occurred or a block during. It is almost like the stalker is commenting on what the author has written, like his own point of view of Lily’s lifestyle.

This book is a real page turner. The mood makes even the reader feel unsafe and watched at all times. I could barely put it down and when it ended I wanted more. It is a dark and mysterious book with an eerie and intense feeling to it, appropriate for those who want a scary read. Although it was an easy read I really enjoyed it.

  3. it sounds like a really creepy and really scary book, like a book you would read at night and then jump if there was a sound outside your window.
I am defiantly going to read it.
