Shiver

WHAT IF YOU WERE IN LOVE WITH A WOLF WHO COULD ONLY BE HUMAN FOR A SHORT TIME?

If you were crazy about Team Jacob in Twilight you'll LOVE Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. What if everything you thought you knew was wrong? That your simple high school life was a about to change...permanently!

Sam has watched Grace for 6 years continuously. But little does he know, Grace stares back at him with the same intensity. Both have never met, but feel like they have know each other for most of their lives. This is the case for Sam and Grace. By winter Sam is a werewolf belonging to a lonely pack. By summer Sam is a boy waiting to met the girl he watches from behind the trees. Never have they come in connect with each other, until now.

Sam is the character whom I love the most. He had a really traumatising childhood and then being bitten and turning into a werewolf didn't help his problems either. Grace describes him as a long-lost member of the Beatles, with a 'sort of mop-top black hair and interestingly shaped nose that a girl could never get away with.' Another thing I also love about him is his eyes. He has rich, yellow, piecing eyes. At the start of the book one of the characters, Olivia asks if she can take his photo 'I cast around for an excuse. "Some  native people think if you take their photo, you take their soul. It sounds like a very logical argument to me, so sorry, no pictures." I shrugged apologetically.' He's also really sweet to Grace and I think their relationship is a real fairy-tale, they will always be together in the end, no matter what!

I also enjoy with the start of every chapter there is a temperature. Its significant because it shows if its summer or winter. If it’s a hot temperature you'd assume that Sam was a wolf and if it was a low temperature you'd assume he was human. I like how each chapter there is a different point of view from the two main characters, Sam and Grace. Over all I think Shiver is a  excellent book for werewolf and love story lovers. The book flows really well and you can NOT put it down until the very end and even then it doesn't  give all the answers....
